2014 jaguar f-type review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. New model worthy successor to e-type. introductionthe jaguar f-type is a sensational new car, the first true sports car jaguar has built in 40 years. We think they nailed it. It's difficult to build something in 2013 that's true to a heritage from so far back without making a car that's crude and retro. Jaguar has done as good a job as possible, although the interior could be less 2013, less swoopy, and still be comfortable and functional.  the f-type is only available for now as a convertible, although a coupe is inevitable and it will be drop-dead gorgeous. The aluminum shapes are created masterfully. A black egg crate grille complements the design while clearly saying it's a jaguar, including the shark-like gills on each side. From the top corners of the headlamps, shaped like smooth bending trapezoids, a sharp character line travels over the front fender, past the door and onto the rear deck. Door handles are flush with the body.  the interior has two personalities, from the passenger seat and driver seat. On the right side, it feels remote and not much like a sports car. A big dashboard feels so far away. Everything is leather-clad. The passenger is further separated from the driving experience by a wide vertical grab handle to the right of the gear lever.  but for the driver, this cabin that jaguar calls asymmetric comes to life, with controls and instruments canted toward him or her. The panel is clean and sporty. The speedo and tach are large and clear, but the numbers seem processed compared to simple white-on-black gauges like we wish the f-type had for the sake of its heritage.  the bucket seats are excellent, no complaints there. The leather-wrapped steering wheel is nice and fat (flat-bottomed is optional), and the paddles are well designed.  the aluminum architecture and chassis structure is the most advanced and best ever. Riveted and bonded, it's the lightest and most rigid ever designed, at no small expense. The f-type weighs in at a slim 3521 pounds.  there are three models, with the supercharged v6 s making 380 horsepower and supercharged v8 s making 495. We got both f-type s cars on the track, where the v6 worked better because it's better balanced. The rigid aluminum double-wishbone suspension front and rear does an amazing job of keeping the car precise. Jaguar f-type s uses the same engine making 380 horsepower. The jaguar f-type v8 s uses a 5. 0-liter supercharged v8 making 495 horsepower. They all use an 8-speed automatic transmission with console or paddle shifting.  the f-type uses 18-inch wheels, the v6 s uses 19-inch wheels, and the v8 s uses 20-inch wheels. Many of the other differences in the s models are aerodynamic, and some are in equipment. With a shorter wheelbase and wider track than the xk, it brings a new look. There was a great deal of special aluminum work done to create the shape and crease in the hood, many expensive tries to get it right. It'd be like comparing joe namath to colin kaepernick. The v8 gets vanes under nose and flat side sill extensions, to manage airflow. There are a number of faux intakes and vents in the front fascia, hood and fenders. If only they were real.  the big black egg crate grille is all jaguar, with shark-like gills on each side. The longitudinal headlamps are smooth bending trapezoids, with cool led outlines on two sides; from their top corners begins a sharp crease that runs over the front fender, past the door and onto the uplifting rear deck. There are split five-spoke alloys that don't seem special enough; painted gray five-spokes split at the rim like crab claws; bladed 10-spokes that are a lot more like it; and a third style with carbon-fiber trim that we're not sold on.  the hood has a sharp power bulge straight up the center. Any jaguar, when viewed head-on, inspires oohs and aahs. Behind the occupants' heads are twin rollbar hoops with fairings that give them depth so they don't look like steel bars. Behind the rollbars is an area that stores the top, then the sensuous rear deck over a good-sized trunk. One option is a valance in gloss black with body-color trimmed over the stainless pipes in the v6. The standard valance is flat black.  the long led tail lamps are thin elegant trapezoids that wrap forward all the way to the back of the rear wheels. There's a graceful ridge on top of the rear fenders that flows down to the center of the tail lamps. We like the single twin exhaust pipes that come out the center of the valance v6, more than the double outboard twin pipes in the v8. The twin-tip center exhaust is a nod to the e-type of 1961, when it was a sensationally sexy idea.  the rear spoiler is invisibly flat, until the car reaches 60 mph. We don't know what it looks like when it's up, we weren't looking. When we were doing 60 and more, we were looking through the windshield with a big grin.  it was a hot day at the launch in the northwest, 270 miles driven on remote washington two-lanes behind mount rainier, some track laps, and another hundred miles on puget sound. We forgot to put the top up. It goes up and down in 12 seconds. We've seen pictures. A great big dashboard, so far away, so remote, and nothing for the passenger to play with or look at. Everything leather-clad, with one tint being a rich dark brown that's stunning. The passenger is further separated from the driving experience by a wide vertical grab handle to the right of the gear lever.  this passenger remoteness is nothing personal, it's an unintended consequence. Jaguar means to lock the driver into his or her experience, not the passenger out of it. Jaguar said the aim was to create an enveloping cockpit for the driver with all the controls placed naturally to hand and logically grouped, allowing maximum attention on the driving experience. Even some finishes and materials are different on the driver's side. And compared to the e-type, the cockpit doesn't feel like a sports car. We can't think of a high-performance luxury sports car that does. Luxury sports car is an oxymoron. The speedo and tach are large and clear, but they don't particularly suggest performance, for sure not old-school. The numbers seem processed compared to e-type gauges. The fit and feel of the bucket seats is just what it should be, with all its adjustment. The leather-wrapped steering wheel is nice and fat (flat-bottomed is optional), but the thumb bumps at 10 and 2 on the wheel get in the way of paddle shifting. Bucket Seats✔ Bluetooth

2011 land rover range rover sport review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. Range rover luxury on a smaller scale. introductionthe range rover sport fits between the land rover lr4 and the flagship range rover in the land rover lineup, bridging the gap from a price standpoint. The sport is the shortest of the three, both in overall length and in height, and it's built on a shorter wheelbase. And it only seats five.  range rover sport was substantially revised for the 2010 model year with fresh styling, a new 5. 0-liter v8 and 6-speed automatic transmission, more luxurious interior, safety enhancements, additions to the terrain response system, and a new surround camera system designed to aid towing and driving off road.  the 2011 range rover sport lineup gets a new gt limited edition model in fuji white with special trim inside and out and added luxury features.  compared with the big range rover, the sport is seven inches shorter overall, on a wheelbase that's five inches shorter. It's a little narrower. And the roof is lower. Priced about $20,000 less, it's less luxurious inside and slightly less roomy. The sport and land rover lr4 share platforms, drive systems, suspension, and powertrain. The sport boasts more standard equipment, more upscale styling, and generally a more luxurious approach to the same mission: go anywhere, do anything, in any weather. The sport rides on a 108-inch wheelbase, five inches shorter than that of the lr4. So it may seem neither here nor there.  but the sport has been rolling in accolades. Most recently, it was a double winner at mudfest, a long-running annual competition for suvs, put on by the northwest automotive press association. Meanwhile, the land rover lr4, the range rover sport's fraternal twin, won off-road suv of the year.  it's powered by the same engine as the range rover and lr4, a compact new 32-valve v8 made by jaguar that's gotten rave reviews after its first year. It's the latest generation of eaton supercharger, a twin vortex, with dual intercoolers.  all models use a smooth and quick-shifting 6-speed automatic transmission that was new for 2010, with normal, sport and manual modes. Heated front seats are not standard. For wood trim, there's a choice of walnut, anigre 350), or black laquer 350). The luxury package 4,700) adds features from the supercharged, including adaptive front lighting, auto high-beam assist, center cooler box, and premium leather seats with electronically adjustable drivers seat side bolsters, and 20-inch wheels.  options include an audio upgrade to the 480-watt harman/kardon system with 13 speakers 1,650); satellite and hd digital radio 750); and an electronic rear differential lock 500). The climate comfort package 1,500) adds heated front and rear seats, windshield, washer jets and steering wheel. The rear seat entertainment system 2,500) includes two wireless headphones and remote. Vision assist 1,200) includes five surround cameras, automatic high beam assist and adaptive front lighting system.  the gt limited edition comes in fuji white, and has unique bumpers, mesh on the side vents, 20-inch wheels, a liftgate spoiler, and quadrangle exhaust tips. Inside, there's alcantara leather and anigre wood trim, a climate comfort package, and premium sound system, the 480-watt 14-speaker harman/kardon.  the supercharged adds the new generation eaton supercharger that pumps up the horsepower of the jaguar v8 to 510, with 461 foot-pounds of torque. It's a clean, integrated, and aerodynamically efficient package.  the range rover sport is visibly smaller than the range rover, which fits for these times. The overhangs are slightly shorter, raising its offroad capability by increasing the angle of obstacles it can climb or cross, without nudging the front or rear bumpers. The wheelbase is 5 inches less than the range rover, which adds nimbleness to the handling but doesn't much affect the ride quality, the suspension is so good anyhow. And its 7 inches less overall length makes parking easier.  the lines are iconic; everyone recognizes a range rover, like everyone recognizes a porsche. It's basically a big box, but british designers somehow have made it look sleek. It seems most range rovers are a titanium color (called stornoway grey, after a village in the outer hebrides of scotland, grey for the weather), which adds to the sleek effect. But we'd love to see a british racing green range rover sport. Supercharged. interiorin 2010, the dashboard, instrument panel, door panels and seats were all redesigned and upgraded, and every gauge and switch was made more tidy and user-friendly. There are fewer switches overall, since many of their functions have been transferred to the 5-inch touch screen at the top center of the instrument panel. It's called tft, for thin film transistor. The center stack is easy to read and use.  range rover sport boasts a long list of standard equipment including pushbutton starting, a power tilt-and-telescope steering column, color driver information center between the main gauges, satellite navigation with voice recognition, ambient interior lighting with footwell and puddle lighting, and all of the usual power assists. However the harman/kardon sound system has been downgraded for 2011, from a 480-watt 14-speaker system to a 240-watt 9-speaker. The 480-watt system is optional now.  we're surprised that heated front seats are optional, and that a power liftgate is unavailable. It's a stretch and a tug to get the liftgate down. The steering wheel is big and thick, having controls for audio, telephone and cruise control, and the seats are very supportive and comfortable for the long haul, with careful high bolstering. In 2011, handsome contrasting stitching in the leather has been added, standard.  the optional surround camera system uses five cameras, two facing forward, one on either side of the truck facing down, and one at the rear to give a near-360-degree view of surroundings. Camera views can be selected from the main nav screen, and the view can be zoomed if necessary. This feature was developed to assist drivers in trailer hookups and trailer maneuvering, as well as for checking all-around clearances and terrain when driving off-road. 2011 subaru legacy review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. A sold, distinctive choice for those who shun the commonplace. introductionthe 2011 subaru legacy sedan is an alternative to mainstream sedans. The legacy was completely redesigned for 2010, so only minor changes make their way to the lineup for 2011.  the 2011 legacy 2. 5gt limited gets a sunroof, upgraded trim and satellite radio. The premium harman-kardon stereo system includes satellite radio on 2011 subaru legacy models.  all-wheel drive makes the legacy an excellent choice for anyone who has to contend with weather. The body has pronounced fender flares and a grille with a bold chrome trademark wing. The 2. 5 gt limited trim level features a hood scoop that is both functional and adds to the sporty appearance.  we found the subaru legacy wonderfully comfortable, with high-quality interior trim. We particularly liked the perforated leather on the limited models. These aren't luxury cars, but they are premium cars in terms of the quality of materials and the engineering that goes into them.  we found the base subaru legacy 2. 5i effortless to drive. The transmission works automatically, with nothing to do but put it in drive and go; the optional cvt gets good fuel economy. Standard equipment includes air conditioning, 60/40 split rear seat with armrest, steering wheel with audio and cruise control buttons, stereo with cd player and input jacks, remote entry, and power windows, locks and mirrors. Standard features include a hood scoop fog lights, a sunroof, the all-weather package, satellite radio and unique interior trim.  safety equipment on all 2011 subaru legacy models includes front and front side airbags with side curtain airbags, abs with brake assist, vehicle dynamics control with traction control, and tire pressure monitor. walkaroundthe subaru legacy profile is sleek and the roofline is coupe-like. In front, subaru's badge of stars is ringed by a chrome grille. Character lines arc from the grille and form power bulges on the hood and taper upward to the a-pillar.  aggressive wheel arches and edged flares are enhanced by handsome alloy wheels.  there's a short rear deck with squared-off rear valances (smooth and not boxy), part of the standard aero package, giving an impression of size. Along with the 18-inch wheels with wide-profile tires and twin-tip exhaust, it's clear that the gt means business.  the legacy's rigid chassis uses a fully reinforced cage of high-strength steel. Fluid engine mounts help reduce noise. interiorwe found the front bucket seats wonderfully comfortable. Gas strut supports, no intrusion into trunk space: quality detail, for such an affordable midsize car. The rear doors allow for easy entry and exit.  interior materials are high quality all around. The controls on the center stack are all well done. The three-spoke steering wheel isn't as handsome as the rest of the interior, although the optional leather wrap is nice. The ambient lighting for the console is pleasant. Visibility in all directions is good. driving impressionwe tested both transmissions in the base subaru legacy 2. 5i. We like the legacy 2. 5i with the optional continuously variable transmission (cvt). This transmission makes driving effortless and gets 4 more miles per gallon than the 6-speed manual gearbox. The cvt comes with paddle shifters on the steering wheel allowing the driver to shift into different ratios. Called lineartronic, and driven by a chain (actually more of a metal belt) for durability, this compact cvt is subaru's first cvt in recent years, but the company was an early leader in the technology, making cvts some 20 years ago.  all three models have subaru's symmetrical all-wheel drive, but they are different systems. The 265-hp turbocharged engine, with its large turbocharger that sits lowe and near to the exhaust, is capable of pulling 258 pound-feet of torque, available from 2000 to 5000 rpm. The 2011 subaru legacy 2. 5gt pulls off a 0-to-60 acceleration time of 5. 9 seconds, much better than the 3. 6r's pokey 7. 1 seconds.  the chassis features a front subframe with a cradle that allows the engine to sit relatively low. But as we mentioned before, it's not going beat the competition in a drag race. summaryin engineering terms, the subaru legacy comes out ahead of the its chief competitors, including camry, accord, mazda6, altima, and passat. The legacy 2. 5gt is an all-out sports sedan, and the legacy 3. 6r is a midsize luxury car. Each model has class-leading virtues. model lineupsubaru legacy 2. 5i 19,995), 2. 5i premium 20,995), 2. 5i limited 25,295), 2. 5gt limited 31,395), 3. 6r 24,995), 3. 6r premium 25,995), 3. 6r limited 28,295). assembled inindiana. model testedsubaru legacy 2. 5i l. The limited-production cts-v comes stuffed with the 5. 7-liter ls2 v8 engine developed for the chevrolet corvette, generating 400 horsepower and 395 pound-feet of torque. This monster engine comes mated to a tremec six-speed manual gearbox. The package includes big brembo brakes and other high-performance tweaks. 2011 bmw 1 series review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. Inspiration for the 1 series came from the bmw 2002 of some 40 years ago (1968-76).  the 2011 bmw 1 series comes in coupe and convertible models in two versions: the bmw 128i and the bmw 135i.  the 2011 bmw 135i benefits from an all-new inline-6 engine, here using a single turbocharger to produce 300 horsepower, and paired with the sporty 7-speed dual clutch transmission from the z4 roadster. (code-named n55, the 2011 engine replaces last year's 300-hp twin-turbo inline-6.) the 2011 bmw 135i is also available with a 6-speed manual gearbox, which we found silky smooth and a pleasure to operate. Fuel economy from the 135i even edges that of the 128i, with an epa-estimated 20/28 mpg city/highway for a 2011 135i coupe.  the 2011 bmw 128i coupe and convertible continue to be powered by the normally aspirated 3. 0-liter inline-6 that generates 230 hp and 200 lb-ft of torque. They're available with 6-speed manual or 6-speed steptronic automatic.  an m sport package adds a sports suspension that favors handling over ride quality.  the bmw 1 series is nearly seven inches shorter overall than the 3 series. The 1 series brings bmw's highly developed rear-wheel-drive platform to compete with cars in the entry luxury coupe class that mostly use front-wheel drive.  in many ways, the 1 series is nothing more or less than a scaled-down version of the 3 series, with similar looks, similar equipment and similar performance and handling. Indeed, it uses many of the same components and systems. The 135i is a smaller, lighter package with the same engine as the 3 series for a lot less money. The bmw 1 series was launched in the u. As a 2008 model, initially only as a coupe.  we like these cars. They're comfortable, sitting in one is like sitting in a 3 series. Underway, they are sporty and agile, driver's cars, with the feel of rear-wheel drive. We found a 128i convertible is a delight and it has enough power. Most fun to drive is a 135i coupe, though we recommend against the m suspension due to the hard ride. A 6-speed manual gearbox comes standard, a 6-speed automatic is optional 1,375).  the bmw 135i coupe 36,050) includes a firmer sport suspension and high-performance brakes, m sport aero body kit, adaptive xenon headlights with washers, sunroof, gray poplar wood interior trim, and p215/40yr18 front tires leading p245/35yr18 rears. A 6-speed manual is standard. New for 2011 is an optional 7-speed dct dual clutch automated manual transmission 1,575).  the bmw 128i convertible 34,200) and bmw 135i convertible 40,350) are equipped similarly to their coupe counterparts, except they don't have folding rear seats or a sunroof, and they ride on less radical rubber. The 128i soft top comes with p205/55hr16 run-flat rubber front and rear, while the 135i convertible gets p205/50r17 run-flat tires. Both come with a fully automatic fabric folding top. The 135i convertible does not have the coupe's body kit. A 6-speed manual gearbox comes standard on both 1 series convertibles; the 6-speed automatic is optional on the 128i 1,375); the 7-speed dct is optional for 135i 1,575).  options include a sport package 1,300) for the 128i models includes the sport suspension, sport seats, shadowline exterior trim, an increased top-speed limiter, and p205/50r17 front and p225/45r17 rear run-flat tires. The coupe also gets a black headliner. The m sport package for the 135i coupe 1,300) and 135i convertible 1,200) includes the increased top-speed limiter, m sport seats, m sport steering wheel, black headliner (coupe), shadowline trim, body cladding, and 18-inch performance tires.  a premium package upgrades with leather upholstery, 8-way power front seats with lumbar adjustment, memory for the driver's seat and mirrors, bmw assist telematics service, bluetooth wireless cell phone link, auto-dimming power-folding exterior mirrors, wood interior trim, universal garage door opener, auto-dimming rearview mirror, compass, illuminated visor mirrors, and additional interior lights. The 128i coupe version also includes a sunroof. A convenience package includes rear park assist, keyless access and starting, steering-linked adaptive xenon headlights, and an alarm. A cold weather package 900) adds heated front seats, a trunk pass-through with a ski sack, and headlight washers.  standalone options include leather upholstery 1,450), heated front seats 500), heated steering wheel 150), navigation system 2,100), bmw assist 750) with bluetooth connectivity, sirius satellite radio 350), ipod/usb adapter 400), smartphone integration 150), steering wheel shift paddles 120), harman kardon audio 875), 8-way power front seats 995), and adaptive xenon headlights 900). Wood trim is available on the 128i 500) and can be omitted from the 135i (for no charge).  safety features that come standard on the 1 series include dual front airbags, seat-mounted front side-impact airbags, side curtain airbags (coupe only), abs, electronic stability control, traction control, cornering brake control, and launch control for getting started on slippery surfaces. The brake lights include a panic-braking mode that lights up the entire lens extra bright whenever the brake pedal is stomped hard. The federally mandated tire-pressure monitor is standard. walkaroundthe bmw 1 series is definitely short in the rear compared to the larger 3 series, but it looks good that way. It doesn't look cheap or cut off or bandaged. Every major part of the car, the nose, the bodyside, the roof and the rear end, blends with the rest of the car to make a shorter, narrower version of the 3 series with a different and special roofline. Some would argue, however, that the slab-like sides are bland compared to other, more sculpted bmws.  we're fond of the m aerodynamics package standard on the 135i, including the huge air intakes below the bumper, necessary for cooling the turbocharger intake air. The 128i has a cleaner, albeit more conventional, full-width opening below the bumper, divided into three parts by two angled struts. The outboard sections are then sub-divided horizontally, with a fog light at the top and a small grille underneath. The bottom edge of the opening turns up at the ends, smile-like.  at the rear, the 128i dispenses with the 135i's prominent spoiler, in favor of a more gentle lip integrated into the trunk lid. And the 128i's rear bumper is entirely body-color, lacking the black-out panel seen on the 135i. Drag coefficient actually improves, from 0. 33 to 0. 31 cd.  put the top down on the convertible models, and the flared shoulder line that's shared with the coupes seems to form a single surface that surrounds the interior, like the deck of a small boat. Just about everything inside is in the same location and looks and operates the same way.  we found the front bucket seats to be very comfortable and supportive, with big side bolsters. It includes a central control knob with a separate menu button, while other version add cd, tel, radio, nav, back and option buttons around the controller. Those extra buttons provide easier access various functions, eliminating a few steps. Both versions require some time to learn, but the system in the 1 series is a little more daunting. Having tried idrive numerous times, we're used to it and not entirely annoyed, but many drivers will find it overly complicated.  all 1 series coupes come with a 60/40 split folding rear seat than can almost triple the trunk's 10 cubic feet of s. 2009 toyota rav4 review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. The rav4 excels at convenience and ease of use. Getting in and out of the driver's seat is easy. It can move lots of people or lots of gear on a moment's notice. And it comes standard with a long list of safety equipment. Ordered with the optional v6, the rav4 is a regular hot rod, scooting around with 269 horsepower. We prefer the five-passenger configuration.  2009 toyota rav4 models get new options including a reverse monitor and touch-screen navigation, and all models come with integrated satellite radio. Also new for 2009 are active headrests for the front seats. 2009 rav4 limited models come with a new smart entry feature that unlocks the doors for anyone carrying the key fob. lineupthe 2009 toyota rav4 comes in three trim levels: base 21,500), sport 23,200) and limited 24,490). The v6 is upgraded with p225/65r17 tires on styled steel wheels. All models come with a full-size spare tire.  options at the base level include a third-row seat 840-940); six-cd changer 260); a selection of 17-inch wheels, both styled steel 120) and aluminum 440-560); a roof rack with crossbars 220); rear privacy glass 310); a cargo cover 140); daytime running lights 40); and a towing package for the v6 160) that includes a heavy-duty radiator fan coupling, transmission oil cooler, and 150-amp alternator. The tow package increases the rav4's pulling capacity from 2,000 to 3,500 pounds.  the rav4 sport adds a handling-tuned suspension and p235/55r18 tires on alloy wheels, plus fog lamps, rear privacy glass, color-keyed trim outside, and unique charcoal fabric inside. Also standard for 2009 is a new rear spoiler. Options expand to include a power tilt-and-slide glass sunroof 900), navigation 1,550), leather upholstery with eight-way power driver's seat 1,930), a back-up monitor 475), and auto on/off headlights 70). An extra value package 470) combines the sunroof with a roof rack, daytime running lights, and six-cd changer. But the third-row seat is not offered on the sport. The new sport appearance package 577), available only on sport models with the v6 and 4wd, takes the spare wheel off the rear door and substitutes run-flat tires. It also adds power heated side mirrors with integrated turn signals, a stainless steel exhaust tip, and additional interior brightwork.  the limited model upgrades with dual-zone automatic climate control, six-cd changer, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, leather-wrapped shift knob, cargo net and tonneau cover, heated and foldable power outside mirrors with new integrated turn signals, roof rails, engine immobilizer, the new smart entry system, and other amenities. Outside, the limited is distinguished by a unique grille and front bumper, p225/65r17 tires on six-spoke alloy wheels, and a full hard-shell spare tire cover. Options include the third-row seat 700-800), eight-way power driver's seat without leather 440), and a premium jbl stereo with bluetooth phone connectivity 490), plus most of the options from the sport level, mostly for the same prices. Two extra value packages bundle the jbl stereo, bluetooth, sunroof, power adjustable heated seats, and daytime running lamps; one adds navigation, too 2,110), the other doesn't 1,360)  safety features on all rav4s include dual-stage frontal airbags, side-impact airbags, and side curtain airbags. New for 2009, active headrests on the driver and front passenger seats move up and forward in certain rear-end collisions to help reduce the distance between the occupant's head and the headrest. Front seatbelts incorporate pre-tensioners and force limiters. Also standard are latch child safety seat anchors, antilock brakes (abs) with brake assist and electronic brake-force distribution (ebd), electronic stability control (vsc), traction control (trac), and a tire pressure monitor. walkaroundthe rav4 looks like other contemporary toyotas, featuring an aerodynamically efficient ovoid profile strategically relieved by sharp character lines. A coefficient of drag (cd) of 0. 33 is among the best in its segment and a major factor in minimizing wind noise and maximizing fuel economy.  the rav4's truck-like front end is tautly composed. Visually, the fenders are separate elements from the engine bay, a situation emphasized by a tight rectangular grille that seems to sit comfortably atop the wider bumper slits below. Headlights are compact and focused.  grille, bumpers, and fog light surrounds are all new for 2009. Most noticeable are the new, vertical brake scoops, lined with black ribs, that bite into the bumper beneath the headlights, where the fog lights used to be. (fog lights nestle into these scoops on sport models.) more subtle is the way the main grille now integrates better with the cooling slit just beneath it, while the formerly full-width slit beneath that has been replaced by three smaller slots.  limiteds have a look all their own, with a single, deep, trapezoidal grille opening bolding bisected by a body-color horizontal bar with a large, chrome toyota world-t badge at its center. A pseudo-skid plate wraps up from the bottom, leaving no room for additional lower air intakes. Tubular nacelles supporting the fog lights replace the brake scoops of base and sport models. None of these changes, fortunately, has affected the rav4's low coefficient of drag.  alloy wheels have five spokes on sport, six on limited. A wide track gives the rav4 a solid stance visually, while resisting rollovers in emergency maneuvers.  the side view is oblong, a mix of boxy and oval, the better to accommodate that third-row seat. The fat, triangular c-pillar with the taillight at its base reminds us of the subaru tribeca, a larger, seven-passenger suv priced a notch or two above the rav4. An understated indent runs along the bottom of the rav4's doors, softening the visual impression of bulk. The taillights are new for 2009, as is the bumper itself, but the changes here are more subtle than at the front. Taillights are positioned high on the rear fenders. The spare tire bolts into a recess offset to the right in the swing-gate, and doesn't dip below the bumper line. The rear license plate, sunk into the lower left side of the swing-gate below the handle, visually balances the spare. The sport model's spoiler hangs conspicuously off the top edge of the roof.  the new sport appearance package for 2009 eliminates the spare entirely, and centers the license plate up high beneath a bright metal strip that's just beneath another world-t badge that is just under the window. A bulge low down on the tailgate fills in the step in the standard bumper when the tailgate is closed. A handle on the left side still betrays the gate's swing-open design, but in spite of this the overall look with the sport appearance package is remarkably more car-like, more station wagon than suv. interiorinside, the 2009 rav4 is as good as ever, which is to say functional if a bit eccentric in style.  placement of the gauges will be familiar to anyone who has owned a previous rav4. The position and function of the controls populating the center stack is virtually the same as it has always been, which means very good; that also applies to the arrangement of the hand brake and the shift lever. The current dash is sharply split by a horizontal gash running the width of the car. About the only plus we found in this garish feature is a bi-level glove box, with an upper bin covered by a retracting lid and a lower bin fitted with a traditional, bottom-hinged cover.  materials are high quality. The standard seat fabric has been upgraded for 2009. Fit and finish is toyota grade, which means excellent. All three trim levels share the same motif, with contrasting but complementary colors and brushed metallic trim elements around the stereo and climate controls, surrounding the shift gate and swooping around the door handles. The standard side-curtain airbags still allow a passenger assist grip, which folds down.

One of the nicest 40 coupe street rods in the country.. Nothing better than an original steel body black '40 coupe!!!!. This spectacular 40 has only 11k miles on the completed frame off build, no expense spared here.. From the lazar straight body to the high quality leather interior, a glide seat , wilton wool carpet , leather panels , headliner , finished trunk, electronic gauges, the list endless. Power in this trophy winning street machine comes from a healthy 340 hp 327 cu. A 11 inch center force ii clutch hooks up the muncie 4-speed to the 9 in. What a real street rod combination !! A real thrill to drive , (not for the faint of heart) . Power front disc brakes and power rac and pinon steering , coil over suspension makes for a very nice ride. The quality of this '40 shows thru-out , body and paint , interior, power train. A real solid honest no rust street rod (see pics) from its perfect floors to the bodies fit and finish. Everyone knows how popular a 40 ford coupe is , henry just did a good job on these ..

Feel the rack and pinion steering, Porsche 944 brakes and wheels, 1904cc, twin carbed power from a 912, and the one-of-a-kind interior that has left no detail untouched. That’s what was said when the folks at Hot VW’s magazine put it on their cover in May 2015!. The Cocoa Powder and Tangerine Pearl paint make this a vehicle that will stand out in any crowd
